St Thomas the Apostle and the founder of the Church in India bequeathed to us a unique way of following Jesus which was the quintessence of his spirituality. Our forefathers lived this way of life fruitfully and meaningfully and called it thomamargam. They took pride in it and bore witness to this way in their daily life. Their individual and ecclesial life was always characterized by the faithful following of the thomamargam. St Thomas the Apostle had a very special place in their lives. They proudly claimed that they were sons of St Thomas.
Syro-Malabar Church, the heir apparent of the ancient Church of St Thomas Christians, have a revered obligation to faithfully follow the thomamargam in their lives. MST, as the missionary Society of the Syro-Malabar Church, considers it as her duty to inspire the faithful of the Syro-Malabar Church to bear witness to the spirituality of St Thomas the Apostle in their daily life. The Thomasine Research Center (TRC) will make all efforts to fulfill this missionary and pastoral task to which MST is committed. May St Thomas the Apostle of India and the heavenly patron of MST guide us and intercede for us.
